Bailey

Bailey and his brother Ollie arrived at the Sanctuary when their human father was too unwell to look after them anymore. They are big boys who love nothing more than a catnip toy and a cuddle!

Ebony

Meet the lovely Ebony. She was picked up on Saturday, covered in fleas, mites and injuries. But she has settled in quickly and is doing so well. She has had her first vaccinations and is already responding to her new name. Ebony just needed a loving home

Thank you so much to our Founder’s Mum and fantastic supporter, Lata, for helping with our rescue mission!

Jasper

Jasper arrived at Lola’s Sanctuary after we got a call to rescue a skittish stray cat. He has slowly grown to love cuddles, particularly belly rubs! He absolutely loves Prince and is often found having a rough and tumble with him!

Leo, Lilo & Stitch (the kittens)

Leo, Lilo and Stitch are growing and getting more and more mischievous every day! Midnight (Mummy cat) was pregnant when she arrived with us and we are so glad that we were able to provide her with a home at Lola’s Sanctuary, otherwise these babies would have been born as strays. Instead, they have a safe and loving home for life!

Lola

Lola and Pillo were the first two cats to arrive at Lola’s Sanctuary. The sanctuary is named after Lola as she was the first one to step out of her carrier, it's as simple as that! Both Lola and Pillo had been used for breeding and were discarded once they were no longer profitable. At Lola’s Sanctuary we don’t believe that any animal should be used for profit, and we love each of our residents exactly as they are!

Lorenzo

Lorenzo arrived at the sanctuary with his brother Mason and his adopted mother Madison the dog. This little family travelled all the way from Romania to find their home at Lola’s Sanctuary. As kittens, Mason and Lorenzo suffered the sad loss of their Mum to poisoning. Fortunately, the kind-hearted Madison stepped in to take care of the kittens and raise them as her own. All three were found together as strays and have been inseparable ever since. At Lola’s Sanctuary, this unconventional family unit spend their days sleeping and playing together.

Mason

Mason arrived at the sanctuary with his brother Lorenzo and his adopted mother Madison the dog. At Lola’s Sanctuary, this unconventional family unit spend their days sleeping and playing together - we haven’t yet told Mason that he isn’t a dog!

Midnight

Midnight arrived with her three kittens (Silvermist, Tricky and Koko); they are some of the newest additions to Lola’s family. They were found living as strays after a block of flats was demolished and a group of cats were left behind. Lola’s Sanctuary couldn’t just take in Midnight and her kittens and leave the others behind, so the whole group (all 8 of them!) have recently moved into the sanctuary. They are all being very brave with their vaccinations and will soon be able to join the rest of the sanctuary’s residents to play in the sunshine and relax in the newly built catio.

Ollie

Ollie and his brother Bailey joined us at the Sanctuary when their human dad became too ill to care for them. These gentle giants have a weakness for catnip toys and can't resist a cozy cuddle!

Prince

Prince arrived at Lola’s Sanctuary after we got a call to rescue a pregnant female. With the help of some kind friends who lived where the pregnant cat was straying, we managed to secure her. As soon as we checked to see how far pregnant she was, we saw that she was actually a he! Jasper has now been neutered and is enjoying sanctuary life.

Theo

Theo arrived at Lola’s Sanctuary with his bestie, Phoenix. Theo is an incredibly confident cat and has been known to travel across busy roads and junctions, previously making his way to other towns and locations. Theo needed somewhere where his enrichment needs could be met in a safe environment, so Lola’s Sanctuary stepped in to give him the type of home that could provide him with plenty of entertainment and love.

Totton

Totton arrived at the sanctuary after another wonderful rescue asked us to take him in. He has suffered some vestibular problems which have left him with partial hearing and wobbly knees. However he does not let this deter him at all, he still manages to jump quite high and is often found snuggled up to his girlfriend, Lola!

Thor

Thor and Logan are best friends. They were both found in dustbins and established a strong bond in the rehoming centre. They were found with other kittens, however all of these kittens found a home early on in life. Logan and Thor were both left behind as Thor does not know how to use a litter tray. Lola’s Sanctuary offered them both a space and now they live happily with the other residents.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

You can shed tears that they have gone, Or you can smile because they have lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that they will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that they have left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them, Or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember them and only that they are gone, Or you can cherish the memory and let them live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty, turn your back, Or you can do what they would want: Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

- Adapted from a poem by David Harkins

Mahesh Doshi, father of Poonam (the founder of Lola's Sanctuary) and a supporter before the sanctuary had even begun. From the very beginning, he encouraged Poonam to follow her dream of caring for animals in need.

We inevitably have to say goodbye to some of our residents as they go over the rainbow bridge, but they will always remain in our hearts. This page is in memory of everybody who has lived at Lola's Sanctuary and are now over the rainbow bridge.
